Yes, and it usually should — a room used twice a year is expensive. A wall-mounted desk plus a murphy bed gives you a proper study for fifty weeks and a proper guest room for two.
One soft surface is usually enough — a rug, curtains, or an upholstered pinboard behind the monitor. Bare plaster on six sides is what makes a small room sound like a bathroom.
Side-on to the window. Facing it you're squinting by 2pm; backing onto it you're a silhouette on every video call. Side-on gives you daylight without either problem.
