Lightfastness
Rated for the sunny wall
A wall that takes hard afternoon light will fade a cheap print unevenly within a year. On those walls we spec paper rated to hold its colour.

The base coat
Bonds to plaster, not chalk
Paste won't grip old distemper or a chalky whitewash — it comes away in sheets. That layer gets scraped back to something sound before anything is hung.

Acclimatisation
Rolls rested in the room
Paper takes up the room's humidity and moves as it does. Left to settle for a day first, the seams stay shut instead of gapping a week later.

Dye lot
One batch, ordered together
Colour drifts subtly between print runs. We order the whole wall from a single batch so two drops side by side actually match.

Sockets & corners
Trimmed tight, not wrapped
A sheet dragged around an internal corner creases and lifts. We cut and re-hang at the corner and trim cleanly around every switch and socket.

The spare roll
Kept from the same batch
A scuffed panel years on can't be patched from a new order — the colour won't match. We leave you an offcut from the original lot for exactly that.

Vinyl
Wipeable and tough for high-traffic walls and kids' rooms. Less breathable, so never over a damp or external wall.

Beautiful, expensive and marks if you look at it wrong — reserved for one low-traffic feature wall you won't brush past.

Eight to ten years on a properly primed internal wall. Two, on a damp external wall, whatever the paper cost. The wall matters more than the paper.
Non-woven paper strips off dry in whole sheets and leaves the wall intact, so yes — that's the one to ask for. Avoid anything that needs the wall soaked to remove.
Paint if you want colour, wallpaper if you want pattern or texture. If you're choosing wallpaper because you're bored of paint, look at panelling first — it lasts longer and reads as architecture.
